7 Scary Places Around The World

The world is divided into 3 kinds of people; those who cannot keep their hands out of anything scary (yes, I know), those who get spooked easily but love watching or reading about all things horror and those who wear brown pants everywhere.

To celebrate the first two, we have scanned the internet and have listed out the 7 most scariest places on the planet. These are the places that you would never want to travel alone to. Hope you enjoy the spine-tingling ride!

#7 The Overtoun Bridge, Scotland

If you have a pet, a cat, dog or anything, and if they suddenly start to behave weirdly, you are bound to get alert because we know for a fact that animals can sense spiritual energies, negative and positive, around them and possibly can even see them. Dogs amongst them are considered to be the most sensitive in this regard.

But, how would you react if I tell you that this place hold the record for the deaths of a lot of dogs. I know what your thinking, death? Dogs? What? Every month dogs come here to commit suicide ( yep,) how horrific and unbelievable it sounds.

#6 Stanley Hotel, Colorado, USA

This hotel is for all those daredevils who want to explore the spookiest of places and swear by anything that nothing could ever scare them out of their wits. Listed in the National Register Of Historic Places, this hotel is famous for its old world charm. If you decide to stay in this hotel just keep few pointers in your mind. Firstly, as friendly and frank as you might be, do not greet everyone you do not know in the passage or go around and decide to join the kids in their games.

You also would want to avoid asking any questions about any kind of music you hear because there are heavy chances, that these would be some ghostly affairs. If you still want to go ahead and visit this place, then make sure you avoid room number 418. Considered as one of the most scariest hotel in the world, this place still attracts a lot of adventure and horror loving peeps.

#5 Hell Fire Club, Ireland

Halloween receives a lot of mix responses from people all around the world. Some love to celebrate it, and then, there are some for whom the whole idea of Halloween is pointless and strange. Halloween however are said to be invented in Ireland. If you wish to find something haunted to add to your Halloween experience, then this Montpelier hill near Dublin is where you will most probably find the haunted ruins of a hunting lodge.

This place was originally built as a site for the Dublin branch of hell fire club in 1725 by parliamentarian William Connolly. When you take a tour around the lodge just make sure to never look behind you, specially if you hear anything. With a lot of unidentifiable sounds lingering throughout the lodge, this place definitely deserves to fall under the creepiest of lodges in the world.

#4 Lawang Sewu Semarang, Indonesia

The place of Lawang Sewu have been a place of so much killing and brutal tortures. It is believed that during the deadly times of WW-II the Japanese soldiers used this ground as a killing spot, wherein, they used to torture and kill people in thousands. After these incidents, there were a continuous chain of unfortunate events that took place at this very basement.

This basement that is completely filled with dense darkness gives you a sense of fear and anxiety, the moment you step in. The ghostly sights of dutch women walking around and then suddenly disappearing, people walking with their heads off is enough to make anyone feel a shiver through their body.

#3 HellTown Ohio, USA

This place has attracted a lot of attention for its variety of spine-chilling stories. Different people have different theories to narrate and as the word has it, these stories are the most horrific ones, enough to make you feel a shudder. Some says that this is a place of mutant town while others believe that this place is a den for Satanic worships and recitals of his verses and rituals.

We don’t know what exactly is the truth but if you wanna know, we dare you to go and find out for yourself.

#2 HighGate Cemetery, London

Now this cemetery has definitely some famous personality cremated in it. Karl Marx and Douglas Adams are to name a few. But this is not the only famous thing about this cemetery. What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word Haunted? Utterly dark place with unknown figures moving about here and there, right? Well, this place is utterly haunted then!

You will encounter ( if you ever plan to visit this place)  floating spirits of nuns, people randomly vanishing into thin air, the most scariest of them all, an old woman screaming and wandering about in search of her children, and other creepy events that people have experienced themselves who have dared to visit this infamous island.

#1 The Island of Dolls, Mexico

The Island of Dolls, Mexico

Some kids love to play with dolls by dressing it, giving it different hair-dos but some love to tear the dolls apart. They would literally tear away their hair, take out their eyes, throw them away because they don’t look cute enough now, and then scream and cry for a new one (kids’ logic). You might just want to keep one or two of your favourites with you forever to hold on to those sweet memories of your childhood BUT would you ever consider hanging them ALL in your house? Probably not.

What if I tell you there’s an actual island where you would find dolls without their eyes, hanging around, unbelievable right? But it is true. According to local legends, the Isla de las Munecas (Island of the Dolls) was created by its caretaker. He discovered the body of a young girl who had drowned, and hung her washed-up doll on a tree to pay his respects to the young girl. He spent the next fifty years or so adding to the number of dolls. Since his death in 2001, people have kept the place as he left it.
